What Do We Think?

For starters, this one was a real winner with our tech the moment he plugged it in. He and Shelton were discussing how much sustain this guitar naturally has, and Shelton surmised that this is partly due to the lower magnetic pull the Lambertones pickup set exerts on the strings. Less excessive magnetic field pulling on the strings, the less choking of their movement, and the longer-lasting the sustain. I also believe an ash body just makes for an extra-sweet GalaxyFlite.

Besides all that, the Lambertones Cremas are gorgeously-voiced humbuckers and the Triple Shot in the middle makes for some really fun pickup combinations:

Starting on the neck pickup, the guitar is full-bodied and warm but with a wonderful clarity through the mids. The tone is full and present without sounding bright. But still, if you want to contour the top end into more of a PAF-styled character, you can simply roll back the tone knob a touch. Better yet, use the “Cello” Tone roller and have a preset secondary tone setting ready that you can access by simply flipping the roller pot on/off switch up into the on position.

The bridge pickup seizes the more compressed midrange character of a traditional humbucker, but adds nice extension on either side as well. It is crisp and punchy for rhythm tones, both clean and dirty. If you go far enough back on the Cello roller you even get some nice cocked-wah tones, and you’ll find plenty of sweet spots in between. For both neck and bridge, you never lose clarity when rolling back the treble and that is something we absolutely love.

The Triple Shot has enough output to pair nicely with the Cremas and makes way for some delicious two-pickup and three-pickup combinations. Neck and middle engaged together give warm, compressed Strat-inspired sounds with beautiful bell tones on top. Bridge and middle pickups together deliver some extra punch and quack, going almost ‘90s country tone if you really pop the strings. All three pickups together sound Stratier than a Strat, if that’s possible!

Also worth mentioning, Shelton chose some really nice custom tuner buttons to match the vintage 3-tone sunburst aesthetic. Hey, it’s the little things.

How Does It Play?

This beauty sets up with the string action measuring just 4/64” on the low E string at the 12^th fret and even lower on the high E. There is zero fretbuzz. We love the feel of the Medium Oval C neck profile (think a 60’s round C with a little extra removed off the back). The baked maple not only feels superb under the thin satin finish, but it also assures that your seasonal neck adjustments will be kept to a minimum.
