This is not just a looker. It’s a player! And one of the first handful of the new “Hollowbody option” Kenai to hit the market, if not the very first.

The semi-hollow construction gives the guitar tone that is incomparably warm, BUT it also cleans up the midrange a touch and makes the guitar really sparkle. This is not a semi-hollow in name only. There is real acoustic resonance that is happening here. It is loud! And the top end has a little extra air in its chirp, clear and sweet.

From a cosmetic standpoint, this guitar has a lot to deliver as well. Onyx Stain binding enshrines an exotic flame maple top. The T2 grading on this one is rather conservative. There’s a reason Knaggs chose this particular top to showcase their new model. A full gloss finish really showcases the flame, and the zebra Bare Knuckle Mule humbuckers adorn the guitar fittingly in their black and cream tuxedos.

How Does It Play?

The neck feels like a perfect medium-chunky Gibson C. Full, but not inhibitive. In fact, the hand moves up and down it quite gracefully. We have the guitar set up right where we like it, straddling 4/64” at the 12^th fret (reading the line on the bass side and hiding it on the treble side). We are also happy to set this up to your personal playing preference.
