What Do We Think?

Give her a strum! You’ll feel the body resonate against your picking arm and hear that gorgeously dry and immediate attack that you associate with the best pieces of mahogany. But plugged in is where the true magic happens thanks to the pair of TV Jones PowerTron pickups.

The neck position is warm and sweet. It provides a bit more clarity in the midrange than you would get from a PAF-styled humbucker in the neck. The note attack is a little more crisp and this position is an absolute delight to play through a big clean amp.

The middle position is almost a beefed-up Strat. The bottom end is tight, the attack is spanky, and the top end is bold but not too bright. Whether soaking in every note of a big open chord or diving into the rhythmic intensity of artists like Nile Rodgers, this position knows how to deliver.

The bridge position gives a hauntingly pure delivery to your clean tones, but is just as suited to cranking up the gain. It has a more focused midrange than the neck position, paired with a poignant top end that knows just where to taper off. As you dial up some dirt, you can roll back the tone knob a bit to nail some ZZ Top and then go further for some fuzzy cocked wah tones.

How Does It Play?

The frets are PLEK’d to perfection, polished and dressed smoothly from every angle. The string action measures just 4/64” on the low E at the 12^th fret and even less on the high E, without buzz anywhere on the neck. The C profile is unabashedly familiar at first touch, leaning on the substantial side to really get your mojo working.
