The Kauer Banshee features indelibly classic looks, comfortable contours and formidable tone. The mahogany body is slim but exceptionally resonant, assertive but stunningly agile. What Do We Think?

Always a combination that hits a home run! The Lollar Staple P-90 in the neck is hollowed out a touch in the midrange for a tone that is warm and woody in the mahogany body. The Alnico bar magnet pole pieces endow it with nice string clarity on top that doesn’t get lost in the warmth.

The Wolfetone Meaner P-90 in the bridge position will hit home among humbucker players with its meaty midrange and a high end that is tamed but still cuts. It is EQ’d to perfection. The two pickups pair seamlessly in the middle position, with each pickup’s unique approach to the midrange leaving ample room for the other. This position has loads of shimmer in the highs and mids and a tight, even spanky low end. 

We can add a Bigsby to any Kauer Banshee with a tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece using the Vibramate system, just like Doug used to do. He has stopped offering Bigsby's because they have become difficult to get ahold of. But we have them in stock ready to install, and Doug has authorized us to put them on for any customers that want one!

How Does It Play?

Like a dream. The string action measures just 4/64” on the low E string at the 12^th fret and nearly down to 3/64” on the high E, without fretbuzz. The neck is PLEK’d to perfection. The medium C profile is unabashedly generous and comfortable at first touch. This particular mahogany body is extremely lightweight, and notably resonant and lively before you even plug in.
