What Does Ivey Think?

There's something undeniably cool about a Bull Black Fano JM6 with Gold Plexi pickguard, not to mention with a Bigsby! This guitar is an instant classic in any arsenal you throw it in and the Lambertone Lamber'tron pickups are just icing on the cake.

If you're looking for chimey, clear tones with the perfect amount of body when you kick on the overdrive, this might be the guitar for you. The Lamber'tron pickups do an incredible job of offering the clarity and bell-like tones you want out of a FilterTron style pickup, while still allowing enough dynamic range and output to where you don't have to switch presets when changing guitars.

In the bridge position, throw on some gain and you can get thick rhythm tones with just the right amount of lower midrange support and sweet sizzle in the upper register. There's a very precise pick attack with a tight low end response.

The neck pickup balances perfectly with the bridge in terms of output and EQ, with the neck having a slightly scooped midrange and more bloom in the lower register. When digging in there's a sweet chirp to the higher notes, reminiscent of a semi-hollow body. All the way around, this guitar is really pleasing to the ear.

How Does It Play?

The early ‘60s-inspired C profile is temperately slim, but with a nice amount of shoulder to support the hand and thwart fatigue. The string action measures a hair over 4/64” on the low E string at the 12^th fret, and just under 4/64” on the high E. Just the way we like it, and without any buzz!
