Like what you see? All photos are of the exact instrument you will receive!
Each Fano Oltre series guitar is handbuilt in the USA using an old-growth North American Alder body, maple neck and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The result is a resonant, lively instrument crafted with care and precision. This series allows for a number of customizations, from color to pickguard, knobs to pickups. Models can be built with either a maple or rosewood fretboard to meet the needs of a variety of players. What Does Ivey Think?
Fiesta red can make just about any guitar look pretty cool, but Fiesta Red on a Fano PX6 is about as cool as you can get. This one instantly became a shop favorite when it came through the door, and has yet to disappoint.
Loaded with a set of Fano's very own humbuckers, this guitar is straight up Rock’n’Roll. The bridge position has a strong midrange that is reminiscent of your favorite Southern rock bands, having more bark than it does honk. It has all the elements you might want out of a good LP without some of the chunkiness.
The neck position is cool too, continuing with the "LP" nature but more refined and immediate. The alder body and maple neck give it more snap and focus. We particularly like this pickup in the 24.75" scale length guitars like this one, where it tends to have a very balanced EQ and tight low end.
Honestly, just plug this into an old school Marshall and play every Allman Brothers song you know by working the volume knob.
How Does It Play?
The PX6 neck profile is a nice 50’s round C that starts with a moderate depth and really fills out the hand as you arrive at the upper frets. The fretwork on the guitar is impeccable. The string action measures barely a hair over 4/64” on the low E string at the 12th fret, and under 4/64” on the high E. There is no fretbuzz.
