A founding member of California-based alt-metal gurus Deftones, Stephen Carpenter uses extended range guitars to push the limits of what was previously thought possible. Rich atmospheric textures, intricate riffs, and heavy breakdowns make Stephen’s playing remarkable, and his LTD Signature Series SCT-607 Baritone is a guitar that will help anyone seeking to create their own unique and powerful sounds. While based on a traditional shape, the SCT-607B is anything but old-school with its 7-string, 27” baritone scale and neck-thru-body construction.

It features a comfortable alder body and a three-piece maple neck, with an unadorned Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets. Its sound comes from a set of Stephen’s own signature Fishman Fluence pickups, with a ceramic pickup in the bridge and an alnico pickup in the middle position. These pickups have two voices, selectable with a push-pull volume control. Voice 1 (Modern Active) is Stephen’s midrange tweak on the original modern Fluence sound; Voice 2 (Modern Passive Attack) is Stephen’s custom voicing with some tone and gain tweaks to give it extra heat and edge.

We give a thorough setup to every instrument that comes through our shop. From truss rod to nut slots, pickup heights to saddle heights, you can rest assured we have this one dialed in. We also do a thorough inspection and check of all electronics and hardware to make sure nothing slips by!
