What's the deal with refurbished?

This instrument is stamped "used" on the back of the headstock and given a new serial number by the manufacturer-authorized refurbisher. Why? It was deemed to have a cosmetic imperfection or to need a repair. Check the description to see exactly why this instrument is considered refurbished. We scrutinize every instrument and pass along all information from the refurbisher so that you know exactly what you are getting. These are like new with little or zero play wear!

The EJ-200SCE pays homage to the King of the Flattops - the classic Gibson SJ-200. It features a cutaway Super Jumbo body with select maple back and sides, solid spruce top for outstanding tone, a smooth-playing hard maple neck with a SlimTaper™ D profile, pau ferro fretboard, 20 medium jumbo frets, and classy pearloid crown inlays. The bridge has the legendary Moustache™ shape and the pickguard features iconic J-200 graphics. Comes equipped with a Fishman® Sonicore™ under-saddle pickup and Presys™ preamp with built-in tuner.

This particular guitar has a few extremely light finish scratches in the clearcoat. Aside from these, the guitar is in flawless condition.

How Does It Play?

This guitar is an excellent player. We have the string action set at just 6/64" on the low E string at the 12th fret and nearly down to 4/64" on the high E, without any buzz. The neck on this jumbo is very comfortable.

The guitar produces big, rich tone with its classic J-200 body style and solid spruce top. The Fishman Presys preamp gives robust tonal control and features a built-in chromatic tuner to make tuning a breeze rather than a nuisance.

A new Guardian Cases Jumbo hardshell case can be added to US orders for $95 or to international orders for $115.
