Each Fano Oltre series guitar is handbuilt in the USA using an old-growth North American Alder body, maple neck and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The result is a resonant, lively instrument crafted with care and precision. This series allows for a number of customizations, from color to pickguard, knobs to pickups. Models can be built with either a maple or rosewood fretboard to meet the needs of a variety of players. What Do We Think?

This guitar is exceptionally loud and resonant in the acoustic sense, before even plugging it in. Fano’s humbucking pickups are robust yet articulate, with just the right amount of natural compression to really tighten up your tone. You feel the warmth and resonance of the body transfer all the way through to your amp. From smooth, clean chords to bluesy overdrives to ripping solos, this guitar is ready to take you all the way.

How Does It Play?

These guitars come in playing great right from Fano. The frets are beautifully dressed and polished. The early 60’s-inspired C profile is temperately slim, but with a nice amount of shoulder to support the hand and thwart fatigue. We do a thorough check and make the occasional truss rod, nut or saddle tweak to make sure the guitar plays exactly to our liking. The action on this guitar is absolutely beautiful, low without any buzz. The contoured neck heel makes those upper-fret transitions smooth and effortless.
