What Do We Think?

For the Strat player who wants a little more, the Fralin P-90s really deliver. The top end is crisp and spanky like a single coil, while the lower midrange is fat and lush. The neck pickup is warm and buttery down low but maintains excellent enunciation as you work up the neck. The middle position is charmingly articulate with chime and shimmer that will make even your single coils blush. And the bridge pickup feels like a Tele/Strat mashup… tight and brassy on the low end and spanky on the high end, but all with tamed trebles and a complex midrange.

How Does It Play?

We have gone over this guitar meticulously and have nothing but props for the fellows at Fano. The neck pocket is tight, the neck is straight and the fretwork is flawless. The NOS Pelham Blue finish is thin and resonant, with just enough natural finish checking to prove the point. From fit to tone to finish, this one is a stunner.
