What Do We Think?

The Lollar Mini Humbuckers really get the creative juices flowing through this guitar. It’s like you can hear the acoustic qualities of the Korina neck and body through the pickups. They are transparent enough to let the tone of the wood shine through, but warm enough to give you something to really dig into.

The bridge position has a throaty low midrange with a really flavorful snarl in the upper register. The neck position moves the resonance down further, making room for a little scoop in the upper mids. The result is a unique, chewy lower register matched just as prominently by a clean chirp on top. Everything from Tom Morello riffs to the blues à la BB King.

How Does It Play?

Nice and low! The string action measures just a hair over 4/64” on the low E string at the 12^th, and under 4/64” on the high E. There is no fretbuzz. The neck profile is a late 50’s-inspired chunky C with a nice taper from the first fret up through the heel.
