What Does Josh Think?

Beautiful sustain, gorgeous articulation and big-bodied low end all in one package. The Lollar P-90 pickups suit this guitar perfectly. The neck pickup brings out the warm, woody character of the semi-hollow swamp ash body. The middle setting has a luminous sparkle in the upper register, a well-behaved midrange and a tight low end. The bridge pickup is where things start to all hang out. The volume full up will put a touch of natural compression on a tube amp at the edge of breakup and infuse some snarl into your favorite OD’s. The tonal territory of the guitar is tremendous.

How Does It Play?

This one rolled in with Fano’s final setup documented at 4/64” at the 12th fret across all strings. This rings true on our end as well. They just don’t play any better than this! We love the worn finish on the neck. It feels completely natural from the first touch and doesn’t get sticky while you rock. The Mastery Vibrato is one of the finest Jazzmaster-style vibratos you will find, and the tuning on the guitar is incredibly stable.
