The LTD TL series is comprised of transducer-electric guitars that offer a unique chambered body, allowing you to get great acoustic tones with the comfort and feel of an electric guitar.

The TL-6 offers traditional set-neck construction at 25” scale, a mahogany body with quilted maple top, and a thin u-shaped three-piece mahogany neck, identical in feel to many of our most acclaimed electric guitars. Its rosewood fingerboard features mother-of-pearl dot inlays and 22 jumbo frets. Components on the TL-6 include a jatoba bridge, Graphtech NuBone-XB nut and saddle, Grover tuners, and a Fishman S-Core pickup and TL-3 preamp with three-band EQ and onboard tuner.

What Do We Think?

Here at Guitars To Be Played, we have been very impressed with the TL-6 thinline acoustic. Yes, it’s a great guitar to play casually on the couch or to sit down with for a writing session. But where it really shines is plugged in. The Fishman pickup and preamp deliver surprisingly big tones through a PA, nice and full on the bottom but sweet and clear on the top. The preamp has just the right amount of EQ control onboard and the thinline body naturally cuts down on stage feedback. But most importantly, the TL-6 is exceedingly easy to play without compromising on amplified tone when compared to a full-size acoustic guitar.

How Does It Play?

The TL-6 has a very comfortable thin U (but not too thin) neck profile. While we’re willing to do whatever work necessary to get a guitar playing exactly as it should, we have found these take very little effort to setup. The fretwork has been superb. We check everything from truss rod to nut slots to saddle height, and you can rest assured we have this one dialed in. We also do a thorough inspection and check of all electronics and hardware to make sure nothing slips by!
