Crafted by hand, one at a time by the master luthiers at the ESP Custom Shop in Japan, the ESP KH-2 Purple Sparkle is the latest update to the Signature Series of Kirk Hammett, lead guitarist of the world's most successful metal band in history, Metallica. The KH-2 Purple Sparkle is more than just a killer new finish; its specs make it a whole new guitar. It offers neck-thru-body construction at 25.5” scale with a comfortable alder body and an extra thin U-shaped 3-piece maple neck with a great-feeling natural gloss finish on the back of the neck.
The KH-2 Purple Sparkle has a 305mm radius rosewood fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets and Kirk's signature “skull and bones” inlays, and the fingerboard is scalloped from frets 17-24. This guitar’s sound is powered by a pair of EMG KH Bone Breaker Limited Edition pickups. Designed to bring out the best in Kirk’s tone, the pickups offer crisp leads or smooth, rounded rhythm tones at a flick of its three-way selector. Components on the KH-2 Purple Sparkle include high-quality Gotoh tuners and a Floyd Rose Original bridge, and it comes with an ESP hard shell case.
How Does It Play?
We give a thorough setup to every instrument that comes through our shop. From truss rod to Floyd Rose, pickup heights to intonation, you can rest assured we have this one dialed in. We also do a thorough inspection and check of all electronics and hardware to make sure nothing slips by!
The KH-2 ships with matching ESP form fitted hard case and certificate of authenticity.

Just got my ESP KH-2 KIrk Hammett Signature Custom Shop Guitar-Purple Sparkle and it plays as good as it looks. A BIG shout out to Joshua Ingram at Guitars To Be Played for the Excellent service and great set up on this guitar. The Kirk Hammett Bone Break pick ups are killer. I'm playing it through a Randall 100 watt Satan Head and a Marshall JCM 900 Lead 1960 4x12 cab. The neck with the jumbo frets makes it easy to play all your favorite riffs with the 17th-24th frets scalloped!!! I was waiting for the blackj KH-2 for 9 months through another dealer when I saw this at Guitars To be Played. The purple sparkle looks so much better, I'm glad I didn't get the black. I believe they have one left. Jump on it if you have the chance. This is my fifth ESP guitar. They do NOT make a bad one!!!
