1994 Fender Made in Japan Maple Neck Stratocaster w/ Case – Candy Apple Red

This Made-in-Japan Strat was purchased in Japan by a GI and brought home. A flyer from the store where purchased is included! The frets are in amazing condition and show no signs of wear. The neck itself has a light ding on the back around the 6^th fret.

The body has some dings mainly on the back, but the front is in near-mint condition. The pickups and pots have been replaced. Pots are CTS and the pickups are as follows:

• Fender Custom Shop ’69 (inspected by Abigail Ybarra, reads 5.5k)
• Fender Custom Shop ’54 (we think, and it reads 5.9k)
• Seymour Duncan SSL-5 (pickup in the bridge position of the David Gilmour Signature Fender Stratocaster, reads 12.5k)

All pickups are in correct phase and blend very nicely. Positions 2 and 4 do not hum-cancel. The bridge is a bit hotter as the numbers indicate but makes for a great position to throw back to when you want a little extra grunt. It blends well with the middle pickup in position 2.

How Does It Play?

The neck is a wonderful oval C. We have given the guitar a full setup. The string action measures barely a hair over 4/64” on the low E string at the 12^th fret, and right at 4/64” on the high E. There is no fretbuzz. The truss rod functions properly and has plenty of room to move to accommodate different string gauges or setup preferences.
